«TANGO à TROIS» is a series of watercolors where one or more clouds appear. These are composed of vibrant lines, bends, gray, blue and green, which fill the space, disappear and reappear giving an impression of infinite cycle. The clouds are alone or in groups on the wall or on the paper, whose background is sometimes white, the paper being left blank, or black, painted with ink. Each watercolor with pigments, ink and microplastics and according to the technique called wet on wet. This technique consists of painting with watercolor on a moistened paper.
The series is inspired by the nebulosities of the country of mists, the Nebbio, located in Haute-Corse around Saint-Florent. They rise before sunrise, when the humid air rising from the sea mixes with the colder air coming down from the mountains. The colour of the clouds is imbued with this meeting between the blue of the sea and the green of the land where vineyards stretch out.
The artist explores through the series “ TANGO à TROIS” how microplastics change the shape and color of clouds. In view of the accelerating plastic pollution, she questions the aesthetic change produced by the anthropocene.
Clouds created on a white background, sometimes on a black background, symbolize scientific knowledge. Each new discovery, like a sunrise, brings us out of the darkness but we are instantly reintroduced to it, opening up new questions. The earth incorporates all our pollution, all our waste in its cycles. Plastic is thus integrated into the water cycle. Global plastic production is estimated to double by 2040. As for the aesthetics of clouds, will the vines produce grapes and thus a wine with a different taste?
