"Vitraux carrond" series consists of drawings made in pencil and colored markers. In the center of a square sheet is positioned a square of 9 carronds aligned on 3 lines and 3 columns. A carrond is a fusion of a half-square and a half-round. Here the carronds are positioned with the half square at the bottom and the semicircle at the top evoking the shape of a stained glass window (called vitrail in French).
Each of them transmits light through its interior colouring, each time different and composed of a superposition of two or three overlapping colours. Each drawing has its own colors and the vertical, horizontal or diagonal hatching varies.
The symbolic power of the number 9 is universal and refers to both fullness, completion and eternity. The 9 also contains a triple-triad:
With this series, I wish to evoke how we fill each of our lives with a singular light, that of our soul, connected to the universe and aware of the miracle of life. It evolves slowly, more or less accessible, understandable or mysterious.
