Events - Moda Domani Institute, Paris

Moda Domani Institute, the new IONIS Group business school, specialized in the worlds of luxury, fashion and design, began its first term with an «open culture» workshop.

For five days, the forty students of the first class discovered different creative and cultural worlds through challenges, conferences and visits in Paris.

Throughout the week, students have been visiting mythical Parisian places where culture and luxury are in the spotlight. At the Louis Vuitton Cultural Space, they were able to see the work of American artist Andrea Bowers, who set up her studio there for four months. At the Museum of Decorative Arts, they visited a retrospective of the creations of the Belgian couturier Dries Van Notten. They also visited the Galliera museum, which had an exhibition on 1950s fashion, and the Pierre Bergé-Yves Saint Laurent foundation. On the weekend, they attended auctions at the Drouot hotel.

In parallel, several conferences were held at the school:

• Art and luxury and the art market, with Virginie Chuimer-Layen, consultant.
• Design & sustainable development, with Maud Louvrier-Clerc, visual artist & designer commited in sustainable development
• The fashion of the 50s, with Ines Renaudin, who advises on marketing strategy in the clothing and fashion.
• Maison Rousselet, which has been making fashion jewellery since the 1920s.

With this first week, we wanted to immediately immerse students in the culture of fashion, luxury and design. We wanted them to take the time to discover places, often close to the school and enjoy themselves. This general culture is essential to be a good communicator or marketer. We wanted to offer them “guides” to decipher a number of trends and make them understand that they are all connected. Another objective was to make them work together, in teams, to discover each other and start to understand the professional world. This week was intense and successful.”
