" Notre Terre Saigne 1" has joined on March 24, 2021 the project The One by ALURING by @clementsauvoy, collector, critic and curator.
“This artwork is a poetic metaphor of the human footprint on environment. By pressing in a brutal way or sweet delicacy with my hand, my arm or my whole body on the Japanese paper, the ink settles in varying degrees or does not adhere at all. For this painting, I replaced my brush with a baren (printing tool) with this utopic idea to print my message on the head of the one who is looking. I use a red ink because “Earth is bleeding” and choose to represent a mountain as symbol of sustainability. This work is part of a series of 11 paintings, all unique in their way of being painted, all similar because using the same wooden matrix which represent our life. This series evokes the plurality of our various way of impacting Earth.
Identity, footprint and interdependence are the major themes of my research. My militant approach comes from a personal questioning: “How to reconcile the irreconcilable? I and others, inert and living, economy and ecology … I develop classical works (sculpture, engraving, painting, etc.) and also interactive citizen-based practices, such as my exploration of the Anthropocene “JEMONDE” part of the UNESCO project Humanities Art and Society.” Shifting between natural ecosystem and industrial process, Passionate about economics and biology, influenced by philosophy, science fiction and astrophysics, I develops a reflection on evolution, between resilience and innovation.
